10 Green Teal Trail is the result of a rare collaboration between two of North Carolina’s most respected architects – the late Tom Calloway and Chuck Dietsche. This was not a commission, it was the Calloway’s personal beach house.

The design draws from classic Bald Head Island coastal vernacular with a gentle nod to Cape Cod – cedar shake cladding, architectural shingle roof, and lines so graceful they stop you at the door. Inside, the detailing is extraordinary. The millwork is bold yet refined, the hardware hammered and custom, the appliances paneled seamlessly into the design. A ground-floor elevator connects the garage directly to the kitchen – one of many decisions that reflect how thoughtfully the home was planned for daily living.

The scale of this home is grand but not overwhelming. A main-level bedroom suite opens to its own private screened porch. Two generous suites upstairs enjoy water views and comfortable separation for guests. A den adjacent to the main living area includes a full bath and a built-in sleeping nook, offering additional space for guests without compromising the home’s overall flow.

The setting of this home is equally compelling. Positioned on a quiet cul-de-sac directly across from the beach access, its west-facing orientation brings in natural light throughout the day and offers the added benefit of Atlantic Ocean sunset views. Green Teal Trail itself is a tucked-away address, just moments from the lighthouse, chapel, and Harbour Village, but barely noticeable.
