Testimonials
Hear more from our residents, then let us hear from you!Friendly People!
My wife and I visited SLV in mid November. We were given a wonderful tour of the community. Must say – an exceptionally beautiful setting with an equally beautiful cross section of homes. The recreational center was exceptional but best of all everyone we met were exceptionally friendly, welcoming and gracious. If you are nearby you should take the time to visit.
A Hidden Gem!
Savannah lakes is a gem hidden on lake Thurmond . The residents and staff are so friendly and helpful. The restaurants on site make it easy to go out for dinner and the food is amazing. My husband and I can’t wait to move to SLV.
The best community ever!
I have owned property in SLV for the past five years. We visit at least once a year and will build our new home this coming fall. I cannot wait! The community is beautiful, but the people are what make SLV appealing. We will start a new chapter of life when we move to SLV, and we could not be happier and more excited!
UPDATE: We have just relocated to SLV this past month. The hospitality of this community has been amazing! We spent a wonderful evening at Tara’s River Grille with the Southwind neighborhood dinner. The food was fabulous and the new friends, even better! Moving here was the BEST decision we could have ever made! We feel like we are already truly “home”! Thank you, everyone, for welcoming us to this community 🙂
Forget “WV”… This here is “Almost Heaven”! 🙂
There’s nothing like being taken in and being loved by new neighbors who become instant friends! The number of great friends we’ve developed here in our short 6-months we’ve been here totally overwhelms the number of friends we ever had after living over 40 years in IL. We came for the Golf and Fishing, and ALL the recreational stuff to do that you could ever imagine… and of course the year-round weather is phenomenally wonderful compared to back in IL. But it’s the warmth of the hearts of the people that will make you want to stay!
SLV is the perfect place to retire!
SLV is not one of your routine retirement villages, in fact, it is not a retirement village at all. There are two championship golf courses, an incredible lake, and miles of biking and walking trails. Our biggest complaint is there’s not enough time in one day to do all of the activities that are available here, this is THE place for the young at heart!
The village sits in the middle of an area of outstanding natural beauty. The village itself is a real community made up of friendly people from all walks of life and from all parts of the country. Savannah Lakes Village is a great place to live, play and to make new friends.
I am 58 years old & my husband & I have retired to SLV. What we have found is beautiful golf courses, a beautiful lake, nature. The most wonderful thing we have found is a sense of community that we had growing up. Everyone here has been so kind & giving. The medical we have needed has been excellent & the safe feeling we have again reminds us of our childhood. We have been here 6 years and do not plan on going anywhere else. Come join us, it’s time to have fun.
I am far from being retired, but I love coming up on the weekends to just relax and enjoy the lake. I own a house in the interior and drive my golf cart to a rented slip in a community dock. It is the perfect set up for me and my family. The golf courses are great, the food at the clubhouses is really good, and I find the people to be friendly where ever I go.
We came to SLV just to look on a quest to find a lake home/community to relocate to. It was a spur of the moment trip down and even though we visited 3 other nearby lake areas, SLV was the one that caught our attention. That was in April 2015 and we moved down from Michigan in July 2015. Boom…done! There is so much beauty here and so many things to do and wonderful people who are easy to make friends with. Never mind the drive to Augusta to shop…it is easy and you can find nearly everything you might want there. Mostly you will just enjoy the community whether you boat, golf, exercise, play cards, fish…the list goes on. Check SLV out! I think you’ll be glad you did.
Established long lasting friendships in this wonderful, friendly, busy, diverse in all ways community. More than one can do and a niche for all. Besides our wonderful chef and crew, you can find diversity eating areas close by and within 30 mins. The medical facilities are fantastic. It is an always ongoing wonderful place to call home and have been enjoying for almost 9 years!
We chose SLV because of the amazing opportunities for everyone. Since moving here, I took up golf, learned bridge, found a group to travel with to Africa and China, and even got a boat! Retirement in SLV is as active as you would like it to be! My husband and I can’t get over what a great choice we made! This is not what we thought retirement would be, it’s so much fun… always on the go!
We have lived in Savannah Lakes Village for 18 years and we’d love to have another 18 here. This is the warmest, most caring community we have ever lived in. The amenities are fantastic and the staff is terrific. SLV gives you great value for your money. It’s a wonderful place to call home. Come join us, you’ll love it here!!
Many communities have golf, tennis, and activity centers with pools and weight rooms. Some also have a lake. What sets this community apart from the others is the numerous opportunities to volunteer for meaningful causes, continue learning through educational opportunities, and to live with people who care for and share with each other at a level we’ve not seen anywhere else. If you are concerned about leaving family, you will find a larger family waiting for you here.
Beautiful Community!
Our visit to Savannah Lakes Village was a delightful surprise. The community is gorgeous and our real estate agent, Deborah Powell, was over the top welcoming, knowledgeable, and experienced. She sold us on this community, and had an answer to our every question. Deborah knows the “low-down “ on the community and broader area: she’s your gal.
Exploring SLV!
We had a wonderful time touring homes in SVL. Debbie was great, no pressure just showed us everything we wanted to see. The restaurants on the property are good. The property does not feel tight. There is privacy yet community. We are definitely considering making SVL our new home..
We love SLV!
Our realtor Eddie Addison made us feel at home and answered all our pertinent questions. The facilities and grounds are stunningly beautiful. This is a place that has everything, privacy, location and outstanding value. Mr. Addison is the consummate professional who I would like to do business with, trustworthy and real.
Where Else Would You Want To Be?
What a wonderful place to live. We love being able to see the stars at night without light pollution, meet friends on the water or at one of the clubhouses, hike, play golf or take advantage of the many other outdoor activities available. The best part of living in Savannah Lakes however is our people. You can’t beat having friends.
Perfect Place to Retire
This is the only place with which I am familiar where we have First Responders, Neighborlink, caring and friendly neighbors, two beautiful golf courses, lots of water and many other amenities. What more can I say? I love it here.
A great place to live!
From our very first visit to SLV, we knew we wanted to retire here because of its natural beauty, all the amenities and the sense of community. We came here from Illinois not knowing anyone. From day one, everyone we met was so friendly and helpful. There are so many activities, clubs and fun events to participate in, but because SLV is located in a beautiful serene area with its lake and woods, it is also a very relaxing place. This combination makes it a “great place to live”.
An awesome place to live!
Savannah Lakes Village is absolutely the best-kept secret that SC has. We “found” the area by having met people at Wesley Commons in Greenwood who had moved from SLV due to their need, or spouse’s, for care. They had such positive comments about McCormick and SLV that we wanted to check it out for ourselves. We actually bought our home a week after our first visit. Everyone we have met has welcomed us with open arms in addition to being helpful. We are very happy in our new home.
It’s been great
I have lived here for 20 years and am enjoying it as much or more every day. Play golf twice a week, tennis 3 times a week. Enjoy the lake and dining at the club between times. It has always been a great place to entertain the kids and grandkids. To sum it up its been super.
Boater’s Paradise
WOW, what a wonderful lake!!! We are avid boaters and moved from a small lake in Michigan. Water was small (240 acres), cold (lucky to hit 80 degrees), and frozen for nearly 4 months of the year, so boat was out of the water for at least 6 months! We are now enjoying year round boating on 70,000 acres with water that is well into the 80’s for about 4 months of the year. The scenery is breathtaking and the community raft-ups are a regular event and a great way to get to know your neighbors! Fishing is spectacular with many regulars available to show you the tricks!
Our Little Piece of Paradise
Savannah Lakes Village??? WOW! Where do you start? My first comment to prospective residents is that this is a “Little Piece of Paradise.” What would you like to do? Golf? Tennis? Fishing? Hiking? Kayaking? Waterski? Bowling? Bridge? Boating? Bike riding? Pickleball? Volunteering? Canasta? Quilt Club? Dining? Skeet Shooting? Archery? Needle Arts? Yoga? Pinochle? Aqua Aerobics? Land Aerobics? MahJong? and many, many more? Well, all of this is right here at your fingertips in SLV. Besides SLV representing Savannah Lakes Village, it also means Superb Lifestyle Variety . . .
The most amazing amenity filled pristine fun loving caring community anyone could ever imagine!
I have lived in Savannah Lakes Village 15 years! I absolutely love our community! There is something for everyone! While our amenities are top notch, the people who live here make it very special! Join us if you want to enjoy every day!
Paradise on Earth
When my husband and I would return from traveling we always say “why do we ever go anyplace else.” You just can’t beat our golf courses, huge, never busy Lake Thurmond and the countless amenities. Most importantly though are the people. It’s like a family and when a crisis hits there is unbelievable support. I come from Florida and I wouldn’t live anyplace but Savannah Lakes Village. You can be as active as you want to be.
Wonderful place to live!
This is, without a doubt, the best place I have ever lived! There are so many things to do, we are close to larger cities but we have a country atmosphere. The most wonderful thing about SLV are the people who live here. It is hard to imagine a family of over 2,000 people, but that is exactly how I feel about my neighbors.
SLV is the best kept secret in the South
The very best part of SLV is the PEOPLE. We have excellent facilities, if not exceptional, but really it is the residents that make it what it is.
The best-kept secret in the South is Savannah Lakes Village.
My husband and I can fulfill every dream man imagines here. These include tennis, golf, bridge, concerts, theater, volunteer work, gardening, swimming, boating, bowling, opportunities to help in leadership roles, and divinely smart & friendly people from all walks of life.
Thank You to McCormick First Responders and EMS
I had a fall and have no idea how long I was out. But when I called 911, the first responders and EMS came within minutes.
They took me to Self Regional and after a week, I’m in Greenwood Rehab building up my strength!
We just can’t say THANK YOU enough to our great First Responders and the McCormick EMS.
What a great community!
