Amphitheater · future concept

The Amphitheater

Music under the pines, in a natural lawn bowl above Lake Thurmond.

Proposed · Savannah Lakes Hospitality Group

Bring a blanket. The lake brings the sunset.

The Amphitheater is envisioned for a natural, already-cleared bowl on the marina point, just west of the docks. The ground falls gently toward the southwest, so the covered stage sits at the low end with the lake behind it and terraced lawn seating rises up the hill. Guests arrive at the top of the bowl and walk down to their seats under the pines.

SHOW NIGHT · CONCEPT VIEWA full house in the bowl.

Fixed seats up front, a sweeping lawn behind and the lake glowing past the stage as the headliner takes the stage.

2,500 to 5,000

Seats, built in phases: about 2,500 to open, growing to 3,750 and a full 5,000-seat build-out.

About 76 shows

Two shows a week through the season, plus festival weekends and game-day watch parties.

Labor Day to Memorial Day

A fall-through-spring season that makes the most of the mild South Carolina weather.

About 350 feet

The walk from the marina docks to the bowl. The welcome center is about 400 feet away.

The setting, as envisioned

A stage built into the land.

Arrive by water

The best seat might be your boat.

The amphitheater sits a short walk from the marina, so boaters can tie up and stroll to the show. On the biggest nights, the plan includes a raft-up viewing area on the water, so neighbors can enjoy the concert from their own deck.

Festival weekends

Smoke, sauce and a headliner.

The lawn is planned for a four-day barbecue championship and food festival: a Thursday welcome reception, pitmaster turn-ins for chicken, ribs, pork and brisket, a public vendor village, and music every day on the gathering stage. Headline concerts on the main stage on Friday and Saturday nights, then a Sunday farewell brunch.

A season of music, as imagined

Something on the calendar every week.

Headline concerts

Touring acts on the main stage, with lawn and reserved seating and the lake as the backdrop.

Local & regional acts

Acoustic sets, bluegrass, gospel brunches and rotating regional bands on the gathering stage.

Game days & gatherings

Big-game watch parties, community celebrations and a signature festival weekend each year.

THE MORNING AFTER · CONCEPT VIEWQuiet again by sunrise.

Mist on the lake, dew on the lawn and the pines standing guard until the next show.

Easy arrival

Parking and cart access already reach the pad above the bowl. For sold-out shows, event parking is planned on nearby land, with a cart trail and shuttle to the gate.

Make a night of it

Dinner at Dockside, a drink at Sport & Tiki on the beach, then a short walk to the show. All are planned for the marina point.

Built in phases

Seating grows over time, so early seasons can open without waiting for the full build-out.

Music and gatherings today

There is already plenty going on.

While the amphitheater is in planning, residents enjoy clubs, dining and community events across the village and around the lake.
