Savannah Lakes Village sits on the South Carolina shore of Lake Thurmond, a reservoir of about 71,100 acres with 1,200 miles of shoreline. On Corps-managed shoreline, a Shoreline Use Permit runs five years and becomes void when the adjacent property is sold, so a new owner must apply. Shoreline allocation maps show which facilities may be permitted at a site.
The Property Owners Association operates two championship golf courses, a 23,000-square-foot recreation complex, pools, tennis and pickleball courts, a fitness center and four restaurants. Savannah Lakes Marina offers boat rentals and slips; no slip is included with a home purchase.
