Before you rent a boat

Renters must be 21 or older with a valid driver’s license and credit card.
Boats go out at 10 am and must be back by 4 pm to avoid extra fees.
Prices do not include gas or tax.
Cancel at least three days before your reservation, or one full day of rental is charged.
If weather keeps the boat in at the start of a rental, a rain check may be offered. No refunds or rain checks once the boat is out.

Operated by McCormick County Recreation at 272 Chamberlain Ferry Road, one of the largest boat-launching facilities in the Southeast, for trailered boats and anglers.

Lake Thurmond is the landscape that ties Savannah Lakes Village together. It invites a quiet morning on shore, an afternoon on the water or an evening watching the light move across the coves.

Find your way onto the water

Boating, kayaking, paddleboarding and fishing are among the ways people enjoy the lake. Existing marina and community-dock facilities are part of the area, while the waterfront destination shown on the homepage is a separate future concept. Slip access, fees, permits and boating services are not guaranteed with a home purchase; ask the appropriate operator or association for current terms.

A different horizon every day

The lake is a reason to slow down as much as a reason to go out on the water. It shapes the light, the wooded edges and the way the village feels from one neighborhood to the next.
